Forest City's leadership must reflect the diversity in leadership that is present in our city. In Acts, the church at Antioch was the first church where people who believed in Christ were called Christians because they were so diverse and could no longer be called a sect of the Jewish people (Acts 11:26).
God instituted the family as the primary context for human relationships and second he made the church as a broader family of relationships. The family is at the center of society. As we are seeking to restore the city, we must be intentional in relationships, strategy, collaboration and communication that benefit the families of Cleveland.
Restoring cities cannot happen with a handful of people who meet on Sunday morning. Mobilizing people to focus on causes that can change the city requires many people. The Great Commission begins with "Go" so we must go in order to fulfill the command of Jesus.
Greed plagues cities all over the globe. Forest city will be generous and invite others to follow. We value expressing the generosity of Christ in all we do.
We desire to make people competent in ethnicities besides their own. Understanding others who are of different ethnicities challenges personal growth. It also helps us to appreciate the Gospel when we see how it speaks to the different cultures of our city.
Forest City strives to create a culture where people feel included. Though Jesus' message is exclusive, his ministry was always including those whom society was not willing to accept. Therefore, we want our processes to help people feel included and grow people in their commitment to Christ.
Forest City believes that God has not only created the universe, but also invited humanity to create as well. Through creatively simulating all the senses, we value expressing our creative worship to God.
