Elder Board Candidates

Angela and her husband Troy have been attending Forest City (formerly Heartland) since 1998. Her spiritual gifts are administration, leadership, and teaching and she has used these gifts in many areas of the church over the years.  She works for United Way of Rock River Valley and she enjoys reading, the outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Mark and his wife, Becky, have been attending Forest City Church (formerly Heartland) since 1999. His spiritual gifts are wisdom and discernment. He is co-owner of a commercial flooring company. Mark and Becky have been active in the Groups ministry for several years.

Sue and her husband, Walt, began attending Forest City Church (formerly Heartland) in August of 1998. Her spiritual gifts are mercy, administration, faith, discernment, and prophecy. She works as a Faith Community Nurse promoting holistic health through local churches.

Dianne and her husband, Ray, have been a part of the Forest City Elgin since 2021. Dianne currently serves in our kids ministry checking in families.  Dianne recently retired from Northern Illinois Food Bank where she served as CFO and then Chief Strategy Officer. Dianne enjoys taking long road trips with her husband, hiking, e-bike riding, kayaking, and spending time with her family. 

David and his wife Michelle have been a part of Forest City Church (formerly Heartland) since 2014. His spiritual gifts are teaching, writing, and leadership. David enjoys contributing his gifts toward pioneering new, innovative, and mission-minded works.  He is the founder and CEO of an urban design and development consulting company.  David enjoys biking, kayaking, and spending time with his family.

Janine her husband Kermit walked into Forest City for the first service held in our Elgin location and knew they had found their new church home. Janine serves on the Observation team, as a table leader for the FCC Learning Havens, and leads the Dream Academy First Friday's program. Janine enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising and is an avid learner and reader.

JT and his wife, Sandee, have been part of Forest City Elgin since the beginning and together have held numerous role serving the church. Jon loves helping organizations embody their values and achieve their goals. He currently serves on a few boards and has been instrumental in helping FCC implement EOS across the organization. Jon loves spending time with his wife, their dog, cheering on his sons, searching for the best new custard and serving others. 

Nicole and her husband Gene have been part of the Forest City Elgin family since “the barn days.” Nicole serves on the First Impressions Team, as a table leader for the FCC Learning Havens, and host services on stage.  Nicole and Gene spend their free time kayaking, going for walks, and watching sci-fi shows and football games.
