POSITION: Director of Sharestuff Thrift Stores

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Sharestuff Thrift Stores is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of two thrift store locations: Sharestuff Furniture and More and Sharestuff Clothing and More, both owned and operated by Forest City Church. This position ensures the stores operate efficiently, ethically, and in alignment with the church’s mission, while serving the community, collaborating with local nonprofits, and generating revenue to support church ministries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Leadership & Staff Management: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff and volunteers across both store locations. Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-focused work environment. Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution when necessary.
● Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of both stores to ensure efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Monitor and manage inventory flow, pricing, and donation processing. Ensure stores are clean, organized, and visually appealing through effective merchandising. Maintain compliance with safety, security, and operational policies.
● Strategic Planning & Revenue Generation: Develop and implement strategies to increase store revenue and profitability. - Analyze sales data, identify trends, and adjust inventory or pricing accordingly. Collaborate with church leadership to set and meet financial goals that support church ministries.
● Community Engagement & Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with local nonprofits, social service agencies, and community partners. Facilitate donation partnerships and outreach programs that serve community needs. Represent Sharestuff Thrift Stores and the church at relevant community meetings and events.
● Administrative Duties: Prepare regular financial and operational reports for church leadership. Manage store budgets and oversee purchasing and expense tracking. Develop and maintain employee handbooks, operational procedures, and training materials.

● Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
● Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
● Must be very organized and the ability to multitask
● Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and community organizations.
● Demonstrated capacity to lead and administrate
● Experience with visual merchandising and retail marketing is a plus.
● Knowledge of appropriate computer skills and procedures
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
● This role operates within the Sharestuff Thrift Stores during store hours. primarily within a church environment,
with regular office hours supplemented by evening and weekend events.
● Occasional evening or weekend work may be needed for events or outreach efforts.
● Physical demands may include lifting donated items, arranging furniture, or assisting with store displays.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
● This position is salaried and has an expectation of 40 plus hours per week.
