Jon Acuff said it best when he said, “Momentum is Messy!” But it’s worth it! When you are building something new it can get messy and together with you we are committed to do whatever it takes to build a church for anyone and everyone.

After we introduced Forest City Worship, it became clear that something new, something good has happening. People got excited and started telling others. It became clear that it was time for this church to refocus and keep pace with what was happening!

Yes, it can be messy. But it’s worth it!

There are times in the life of a church where the change of a name can signify that God desires to do something different for a new day, a new generation and a new season of ministry. If a name change can help us define a new day and reach a new generation with a new methodology, that is what we must do. That is why we are changing our name to Forest City Church: Rockford, and simultaneously launching Forest City Church: Elgin. One church with two campuses, ministering in a new season of ministry for a new generation that needs to know Jesus. As Ecclesiastes says, there is a season for everything and this is a season for a renewed vision, evangelistic commitment, and our next season of ministry. We celebrate our past but we build for a new day and like Abraham, Jacob and Saul's name changes, our name change signifies a new assignment and a new season as well.
